Migrating FinJinni from old system to new system

Install FinJinni on new system, plus SQL Server Express if used. The download is here:

After installing, copy these FinJinni files from old system to new system. Replace any files already present on the new system:

  1. FinJinni Application Settings (this contains your QuickBooks company information):

C:\ProgramData\GypsyBI\DataWarehouse\DWSettings.set

  1. Excel Queries and Templates are in the folder: documents\My Templates\FinJinni\
    Query Templates.xml
    Report Templates.xlsx
    Saved Queries.xml

If you want to copy your databases instead of recreate them, you will need to use SQL Server Management Studio – Google it to find the download. Database files that FinJinni creates are in this folder and have an extension of LDF and MDF: C:\ProgramData\GypsyBI\DataWarehouse. You have to shut down SQL Server on your old system, copy the database files, and “attach” them to SQL Server on your new system.
